Static websites ends up in R2
I finally migrated all the websites to R2, a S3 like object storage offering from Cloudflare. It seemed to me that some these have archival needs; photos from my friends, photos of my friends, old pictures, things that we used to do together, etc. And these probably should not live in a random node in Hetzner, so I migrated all of it to R2, making the cluster redundant. The only way the cluster is involved in this, is the image management server, Chevereto. So if Chevereto or the cluster completely goes down tomorrow, the websites will still be up, and it has much less complexity. I can download and host it elsewhere with minimal effort. Maybe I am getting old, but simplicity is becoming more of my thing. Now sure how that speaks to my "hobby" K3s cluster.
The more use S3 like storage systems, the more I love these. Every provider have their own differences in features, but I love the idea!
